It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deacon Chuck Farrar, who left us peacefully on the 20th of April, 2024. His departure has left a void in the community that cannot be filled, as he was a beacon of love, faith, and hope to everyone who knew him. Chuck Farrar’s life was a testament to the power of unyielding faith and compassion towards all.

Born on March 3, 1948, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Chuck was a man of deep spiritual conviction from an early age. He was raised in a devout Catholic family and his early exposure to the church’s teachings profoundly shaped his worldview and path in life. After completing his education at the local high school, he pursued theological studies, which further deepened his commitment to his faith and community service.

Chuck was ordained as a deacon after years of rigorous training and quickly became an integral part of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. His dedication was not just to the spiritual well-being of his parishioners but also to their emotional and physical needs. He initiated numerous outreach programs, worked tirelessly with local charities, and was always the first to offer help in times of need.

Deacon Chuck’s life was filled with countless acts of kindness and selflessness. Whether he was organizing food drives, visiting the sick, or simply lending a listening ear to those in distress, his actions were driven by a profound love for humanity and a desire to serve God by serving others. His compassion knew no bounds, and he was particularly involved in programs aimed at supporting the homeless and underprivileged youth in the community.

The respect and admiration Deacon Chuck earned over the years were not just for his role as a spiritual guide but also for his unwavering integrity and moral fortitude. He was a man who walked the talk, and his life was a reflection of his beliefs. His family, including his wife of over 40 years, his children, and grandchildren, saw him as a pillar of strength and a source of endless love and support.

Deacon Chuck was also an avid reader and scholar. He believed in the power of education and was often found reading or discussing books on theology, philosophy, and history. His intellectual curiosity was infectious, and he inspired many of his younger parishioners to pursue higher education and personal growth.

As we prepare to bid farewell to Deacon Chuck, we invite friends, loved ones, and community members to join in the visitation and Mass of Christian Burial to honor his remarkable life. The visitation will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM. This will be an opportunity for those whose lives were touched by Deacon Chuck to pay their respects and share their memories. The Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM, a tribute to his devout faith.

The Mass of Christian Burial, scheduled for 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the same church, will be a celebration of his life and legacy. It will be followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Hot Springs, AR, at 1:00 PM, where he will be laid to rest in a place he always considered home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Deacon Chuck’s memory to the Immaculate Conception Outreach Fund, which continues to support the causes he was passionate about. This fund helps ensure that his work continues, helping those in need and supporting the community he loved so much.

Deacon Chuck’s legacy of faith, love, and humility will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we come together to remember and celebrate his life, let us hold onto the lessons he taught us through his example—compassion, dedication, and unwavering faith. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we continue to be inspired by his life’s work and commitment to making the world a better place.
