An adult male has been arrested after a stabbing incident in Maryborough, VIC Sunday night. The suspect was taken into custody after robbing two women and stabbing another on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
The incident happened in the area of EG Ampol petrol station in Tuaggra Street, cnr Alma St, Maryborough. According to locals, the unnamed man approached various women at the scene attempting to grab their belongings, some of the victims were chased down by the suspect as they ran to their vehicles.
A local who witnessed the entire incident while outside the Woolworths supermarket narrated the ordeal on Maryborough local’s community platform. “So this male attempted to rob two women, he was armed with a large knife, some were lucky to have fled the scene before he got to their location. He eventually followed another lady who luckily had a guard dog inside her car.
So he fled and then chased a third lady down, took all her valuables, and stabbed her just when she attempted to shove him off. Police must fish out this son of a ****, the post read.
A stabbing allegedly occurred this evening at Maryborough’s Ampol petrol station – situated across the road from the Woolworths supermarket.
Thoughts are with everyone involved in the incident
Another local identified as Leah H, shared the photo of the man as he ran with people’s belongings he had forcefully collected. Leah was also a victim of the incident. A few hours after the incident, Victoria Police in Maryborough said that they had the suspect in custody. The investigators did not release his identity. The injured victim was transported to an area hospital in known condition.
