Mckinley Jordan Toliver, 19-Year-Old Man and Two Men Die as Car Collides with Passing Train in Wasco
Three individuals lost their lives following a tragic incident where a 19-year-old man collided with a passing train after striking the railroad crossing arm early on a Sunday morning.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a call from the Wasco Police Department on April 21, 2024, at approximately 3:03 a.m., reporting a crash between a vehicle and a train on Kimberlina Road, located east of Highway 43.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the young man, identified as Mckinley Jordan Toliver, was driving a 2021 Honda westbound on Kimberlina Road towards the railroad tracks at an unknown speed. The train was traveling northbound on the tracks at the time.
The driver struck the railroad crossing arm and subsequently collided with the train, causing the Honda to overturn and veer out of control in a northerly direction.
Tragically, the driver and his two passengers, one aged 27 and the other unidentified, lost their lives in the crash.
The CHP is currently looking into whether there was any involvement of alcohol or drugs in the incident.
