New Zealand Surfing Community Sends Tribute to Nenha Surfer Flavio Fedrizzi’s Family
The surfing communities in New Zealand are in mourning with the family of renowned surfer and show participant Flavio Fedrizzi, who was found dead in late November 2023.
Flavio Fedrizzi, originally from Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil, resided in Raglan, New Zealand, with his family. He was a known Nenha surfer and a graduate of Colégio Catarinense.
According to the father of two LinkedIn profiles, Fedrizzi enjoyed surfing, shooting clips, and short videos with his son Enzo Tessadri. Fedrizzi lost his battle with mental illness and post-trauma depression on Monday, November 13, 2023, according to his tribute page.
In a tribute by NZ surfer Keogh to the known show participant and family-oriented man, Flavio Fedrizzi was likened to a great father figure who enjoyed every moment he spent with his son.
In a statement to Newshub. co. nz, Keogh said Flavio Fedrizzi disclosed that his son Tessadri has granted Warner Bros. and Discovery ANZ the full right to air their last show. Fedrizzi was found deceased from suicide after battling PTSD, according to the family.
Flavio Fedrizzi was an adventure lover; he loved family times and would do anything to support those he cared about, said a family friend, Tatiana, in a lengthy tribute. “Flavio was full of energy, full of joy, and full of life.
He often encouraged me, “Keep going, Princesa. You came this far. You are more powerful than you know, just one foot in front of the other. You got this. I will cook you some beans to remind you of home.
When I started my now failed jewellery business, he made the very first purchase. A gift for his mom, he said. I asked him why he was buying imported Brazilian jewelry in NZ to send back to Brazil. He said he wanted to be the first one to open a door for me to prosper.”
