The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) received a distress call about a stabbing incident with a lethal weapon at the Universal City Station, which is located at Lankershim Boulevard and Campo De Cahuenga Way, on April 22, 2024, at around 5:00 a.m.
When the train stopped at the Universal City Station, the victim who had been attacked while on the train—was able to get off onto the platform. Along with the victim, the attacker got off and ran off on foot.
The victim was quickly helped by Metro contract security officers until the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) arrived, at which point they took her to a nearby hospital. Sadly, the victim passed away from her wounds.
Patrol officers from the North Hollywood division saw someone who fit the description of the attack suspect at around 5:30 in the morning while they were cruising the area near Ventura and Vineland.
The man was taken into custody by the authorities pending an interview with detectives from the Operations Valley Bureau Homicide unit.
After questioning witnesses and reviewing the evidence, the person was identified as 45-year-old male African American from Los Angeles named Elliot Tramel Nowden.
Following his arrest, Nowden was accused of murder in accordance with section 187(A)PC. Currently, he is being held with the booking number 6796711 and $2,000,000.00 bail.
The possibility that there are still victims of Nowden’s crimes who have not yet come forward is highly suspected by investigators. The public is being provided with a picture of the suspect, Elliot Tramel Nowden, in an attempt to identify and get in touch with these possible victims.
