Gary Joseph, aged 64, passed away on Sunday evening following a collision with a car while attempting to cross a road, as per the statement released by the police department.
Joseph succumbed to his injuries at a medical facility after the incident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. in the 2900 block of North Bolton Avenue.
This unfortunate incident is at least the third time in the past 10 days that a motor vehicle has struck and killed a pedestrian in the Central Louisiana region.
According to reports, Joseph was in the process of crossing the northbound lanes when the accident took place.
The driver of the vehicle underwent a toxicology examination, with the findings currently pending. The investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
