Jevario Buie, 14-Year-Old Tampa Teen Fatally Shot Dead, Investigators Seek Leads

Investigators have confirmed that a 14-year-old boy, Jevario Buie, was the victim of a fatal shooting in Tampa less than a week ago. The incident took place on April 17 in the 1400 block of West Busch Boulevard. Authorities were alerted to the sound of gunshots in the area around 3:30 p.m.

Buie was discovered deceased from a gunshot wound near the railroad tracks between Busch Boulevard and Rome Avenue. Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw expressed his sorrow, stating, “This is a tragic loss of a young life.” He added that Jevario’s family is devastated, and detectives are diligently working to apprehend those responsible.

What Happened to Jevario Buie

Tampa Police Detectives are asking the community for assistance in identifying those responsible for the shooting death of 14-year-old Jevario Buie.

On Wednesday, April 17th, just after 3:30 pm, officers responded to reports of gunfire near the 1400 block of W. Busch Blvd. Upon arrival, they found Jevario near the railroad tracks between Busch Blvd. and Rome Ave., where he died from his injuries.

“This is a senseless tragedy that has taken a young life,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Jevario’s family is heartbroken, and our detectives are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.

We are asking the community to come forward with any information they may have. Even the smallest detail could be crucial in solving this case and finding justice for Jevario’s family.”
