Legendary Valley basketball coach Erasmo “Mo” Molina passed away at the age of 78.
Molina led a handful of Valley schools during his long coaching career.
He was most recently the head coach at the Marine Military Academy.
Molina, a 2010 Rio Grande Valley Sports Hall of Fame inductee, won more than 500 games during his coaching career.
Molina’s son, Brian, followed in his father’s footsteps.
Brian is currently the head coach at Harlingen South. His father would attend the Hawks’ games regularly to cheer on his son’s teams.
