Toronto law enforcement has disclosed the identity of the individual who tragically perished in a stabbing incident at a men’s homeless refuge during the previous weekend.
According to an official statement released on Monday, authorities confirmed the victim as 41-year-old Toronto resident Liam Keddy.
Keddy had been residing at a 74-bed men’s shelter run by Homes First.
Toronto police swiftly responded to distress calls around 1:55 a.m. regarding a stabbing episode at the shelter situated on Lake Shore Boulevard at Bathurst Street this past Saturday.
Initially, investigators reported discovering a male in his 50s afflicted with stab wounds who later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Subsequently, a 25-year-old Toronto resident, likewise identified as a shelter occupant by Homes First, was apprehended and charged with second-degree murder.
