Kassandra Lozano Obituary – The arrest of Peter Lozano III, a deputy from the Webb County Sheriff’s Office, has been confirmed by authorities. He was taken into custody on April 24 and subsequently released on bond the same day, as per records from the Webb County Jail.

According to the indictment, Peter Lozano was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in a public place, resulting in the death of his passenger, Kassandra Lozano, who was 25 years old. The incident also caused injuries to other individuals.

It is important to note that Peter Lozano was off duty at the time of the crash. A grand jury has charged him with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle, intoxication assault with a vehicle, and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. An arraignment hearing for Peter Lozano has been scheduled for May 16 before 111th District Judge Monica Z. Notzon.

Sheriff Martin Cuellar has announced that an internal investigation has been initiated, which is standard procedure in such cases. Peter Lozano is currently on administrative leave until the investigation is concluded.

Sheriff Cuellar emphasized his commitment to holding his deputies to a high standard, both on and off duty, and mentioned that appropriate action will be taken regarding Lozano’s employment status.

The crash occurred on February 12 near Lake Casa Blanca International State Park on Bob Bullock Loop. Laredo police officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a white pickup truck rollover.

Two Good Samaritans stopped to provide assistance, but their vehicle was struck by a gray Chevrolet Corvette driven by Peter Lozano and occupied by Kassandra Lozano. This collision resulted in injuries to the Samaritans and an additional person, as stated in the indictment.
