Arielle Desislets,Robert Desislets Obituary – On Friday, family members confirmed that two children have tragically lost their lives in the devastating house fire that occurred in north Spokane.

Arielle Desislets, 33, sadly passed away on Sunday evening, while her two young children, aged 2 and 7, were rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being rescued from the burning house last week.

The 7-year-old child was placed on life support, as stated in an email sent by the principal of Holmes Elementary School. Tragically, the father, Robert Desislets, 38, did not survive the incident. In response to this heartbreaking tragedy, the family of the fire victims has initiated a fundraising campaign on gofundme.com to cover the funeral expenses.

Remarkably, the campaign has already raised over $17,000. It is worth noting that some family members residing in Georgia are also planning to hold their own funeral service.

The fire, which originated on the porch, quickly engulfed the nearby garage and spread to the upper floor of the house. Firefighters promptly responded to a 911 call reporting the fire at 4:10 a.m. on Saturday and successfully rescued the family from the second floor. Unfortunately, no functional smoke alarms were found in the home.

An investigation conducted by the Spokane Fire Department revealed that the fire was accidental and caused by the use of an extension cord instead of permanent wiring. The house, a three-bedroom, one-bathroom property, was constructed in 1905 and is located directly across from North Central High School. The Desislets had purchased the house in 2020.
