Rincy George Obituary: Pleasanton crash victims were returning from birthday party.
Rincy George Obituary – Community members in Pleasanton are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a family. Anjali Maski expressed her sorrow as a close friend of the couple and their two children who passed away in the crash on Wednesday. “We are at a loss. We are struggling to comprehend the situation,” Maski shared. “We are devastated.” Maski identified the victims as Tarun and Rincy George and their two sons. The authorities have not disclosed the victims’ names.
At the crash site, the tree that the family’s car collided with was adorned with flowers, accompanied by a heartfelt message from the community: “Rest in love, May your family find peace.” Maski mentioned that the family was returning from a birthday celebration when the accident occurred around 9 p.m.
She is now focusing on comforting her child, who used to play with the couple’s kids. “It’s challenging to explain to children that their friend, who was with them last night and this morning, is no longer here,” she expressed.
The boys attended Donlon Elementary School and Hart Middle School, where school officials have arranged for grief counselors. Larry Lai, a resident near Foothill Boulevard, recalled hearing explosions during the crash. “Every five to 10 seconds, a loud boom, maybe around five to eight times,” he recounted.
Shortly after, he heard sirens.
Lai urged drivers in the vicinity to “drive cautiously on Foothill Boulevard, please.” Close to the crash site, neighbors surrounded the family’s home with flowers as a gesture of support. Friends mentioned that the victims’ relatives are traveling from India over the weekend.
“The family was incredibly welcoming to everyone in the neighborhood,” Maski reflected. “Their absence will be deeply felt.”
Pleasanton police suggested that speed might have been a factor in the crash, but investigations are ongoing.
Community members are organizing a vigil for the family on Sunday afternoon at ValVista Park.
