Sheridan, AR – The Arkansas Army National Guard is mourning the loss of one of its own, Staff Sergeant Taylor Mcgarity, who passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the young age of 25. Taylor, a resident of White Hall, Arkansas, was a dedicated recruiter and Team Leader for Alpha 3, known for his bravery, respect, and commitment to serving his country.

Born on January 26, 1999, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Taylor lived a life of service, inspiring those around him with his leadership and dedication. As a recruiter, he worked tirelessly to hire and retain talented individuals for the Army National Guard, earning a reputation as a skilled and effective leader. But Taylor’s impact went far beyond his professional accomplishments; he was a loving father, husband, son, and friend, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Outside of his military service and family life, Taylor had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought him joy. He loved fishing, video games, tattoos, running, and tennis, embracing life with enthusiasm and passion. But most of all, Taylor was proud of his service in the military, a commitment that defined him and inspired others.

Taylor is survived by his beloved wife, Kenzie McGarity; daughters, Acelynn McGarity and Everleigh Harrison; niece, Alexia Stroud; mother, Janae Wilkins (Doug); brother, Kyle McGarity (Bre); sister, Dray Spadoni; grandparents, Mark and Debora Davis; aunts, Lori Allen and Wenona Sexton (Billy); uncle, Jonathan Davis (April); nephew, Weston McGarity; niece, Laykin Holmes; and numerous other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be held on May 6th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at GRACE Church East End (24300 Hwy 167), followed by a Funeral Service on May 7th at 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will take place at 12:00 PM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery (1501 W. Maryland, North Little Rock) with full Military Honors.

Taylor’s passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his legacy of service, leadership, and love will live on through the countless lives he touched. The Arkansas Army National Guard and the entire community mourn the loss of this dedicated soldier, father, husband, and friend, and offer their deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

Taylor’s obituary is a testament to his remarkable life, highlighting his many accomplishments, interests, and the impact he had on those around him. His commitment to serving his country and his community is an inspiration to us all, and his memory will be cherished forever.
