Letrevion Starnes, Rockford man died in deadly shooting on Price Street
The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office has disclosed the identity of a man who was involved in a fatal shooting on Monday. The victim was 21 years old. Rockford resident Letrevion Starnes is described as the victim. On Monday, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Rockford police and firemen responded to the 1900 block of Price Street in response to a fatal gunshot reported there.
What happened to Letrevion Starnes?
When the police came, they discovered Starnes bleeding from several gunshot wounds inside the building. Firefighters from Rockford provided medical attention to the individual and then brought him to a hospital in Rockford, where he was declared dead at 2:51 p.m. Starnes was found to have died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the autopsy. The police have not made any arrests. Rockford police are conducting an investigation.
Shooting at Delaware State University
An 18-year-old was shot and killed on the Delaware State University campus early on Sunday morning. The incident is currently under investigation by police, and a reward is being given for information that results in an arrest. According to a university representative, classes will resume on Tuesday after being canceled on Monday. Dover Police named the victim as Wilmington, Delaware resident Camay Mitchell De Silva early on Monday morning.
They said that the force is still searching for information that could lead to the identification of a suspect in the woman’s death. According to the Dover Police Department, at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, there was a shooting close to the Warren Franklin Residential Hall on campus. They discovered an 18-year-old woman who had been shot in the upper torso at the site; she was subsequently identified as De Silva.
Suspect still at large
After being brought to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, the young lady passed away from her wounds. She was not enrolled at the university, according to the police. According to the institution, De Silva was enrolled at Baltimore’s Morgan State institution. According to DSU officials, at the time of the incident, De Silva and perhaps another woman were on campus visiting someone.
According to DSU officials, the gunman is still at free and was last seen traveling toward College Road. Police stressed on Monday that while they haven’t yet released a description of the gunman, detectives are working nonstop and in tandem with university police to complete the investigation. They also mentioned that there are now more patrols on and around campus.
