The passing of Garrison Hostetter, a cherished student at Dayspring Christian Academy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has left a profound sense of loss and sadness in the hearts of all who knew him. At the tender age of 16, Garrison departed this world on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to his studies and his faith.

Born on April 3rd, 2008, Garrison was a beloved member of his community, known for his active participation in church activities and his deep devotion to his faith. Alongside his family, he attended Encounter Church on Wednesday nights and was actively involved in the Lord’s House of Prayer youth group, where he found fellowship and spiritual nourishment.

Garrison’s academic achievements were nothing short of remarkable. During his sophomore year at Dayspring Christian Academy, he distinguished himself as a model student, excelling in every subject he pursued. His keen intellect and quick wit were evident to all who knew him, as he tackled Advanced Placement Calculus with ease and demonstrated a remarkable talent for the arts.

Beyond his academic accomplishments, Garrison will be remembered for his warmth, compassion, and infectious spirit. He touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his family, friends, and teachers. Though his time on earth was tragically cut short, his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the enduring impact of his legacy.

Garrison is survived by his loving parents, Robert Aaron and Mindy Marie (Frank) Hostetter of Pequea, as well as his siblings Caroline Marie, Bethany Edna, Lincoln Frank, Jaynie James, and Alaina Lynn Hostetter. He is also mourned by his paternal grandparents, James Wilbur and Mary Louise (Hurst) Hostetter, Sr., his maternal grandparents, Donald Lynn and Kathy Marie (Dabler) Frank, Sr., and his maternal great-grandmother, Elnora Leaman Frank.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in honor of Garrison at Petra Church in New Holland, PA, on Saturday, May 4th, beginning at 3 p.m. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours on Friday evening, May 3rd, from 5-8 p.m., and again on Saturday, May 4th, from 1-3 p.m. A private burial will follow at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dayspring Christian Academy, honoring Garrison’s memory and supporting the educational institution he held dear. The family requests that attendees dress in dressy casual attire, reflecting Garrison’s vibrant spirit and love for life. As the community comes together to mourn the loss of a beloved son, brother, and friend, may they find solace in the cherished memories and enduring legacy of Garrison Hostetter.
