The Albany Police Department (APD) has launched a manhunt for Kanard Hunt, a suspect connected to a deadly shooting that occurred near Albany State University’s East campus in April. Hunt is wanted on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a firearm during certain crimes.

The shooting took place in the 200 block of Monarch Drive, leaving 20-year-old Emonyei Ward dead and two others injured. The APD has warned that Hunt should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information regarding his location is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS or the Albany Police Department at (229) 854-0103.

According to police reports, the shooting occurred on a Sunday evening, and officers responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found Ward and two others suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Ward was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two injured victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment for their injuries. Their names have not been released, and their conditions are unknown. The APD has not released any information about the motive behind the shooting or whether the victims and Hunt knew each other.

Hunt is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and jeans. The APD has released a photo of Hunt, taken from a surveillance camera near the scene of the shooting.
