Kaleb Brown Obituary, Family of 14-year-old killed at Conway area bar seeks answers for there sons death;
Kaleb Brown Obituary – More than a year has passed since the tragic murder of a 14-year-old boy in Horry County at a bar, and the police are still striving to apprehend the perpetrator.
In remembrance of Kaleb Brown, his family released balloons on Monday, marking one year since he was shot at a bar in Horry County. However, they are deeply concerned about the lack of progress in his case and the absence of closure.
Jenna Gore, Kaleb’s mother, expressed her anguish, stating, “Yes, it has been a year, but it feels like it just happened because I haven’t found any closure. I couldn’t bid him farewell or do anything. The next time I saw him, he was gone.”
Joyce Gore, Kaleb’s grandmother, shared her family’s profound sorrow and frustration, feeling that they have been kept in the dark by the Horry County Police. She said, “He was a part of our family, and we loved him dearly. He was taken from us at such a young age of 14. He cannot speak for himself, which is why we are here to speak for him.”
According to Horry County police, they received a call around midnight on Saturday, April 29, 2023, regarding an incident at the former One N Done bar, now known as Cosmos, situated near Cox Ferry Road off Highway 544. When officers arrived at the scene, they found no victims.
However, it was later discovered that two individuals had arrived at the hospital with injuries. Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard confirmed that Brown had succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head at Seacoast Medical Center. WMBF News reached out to Horry County police for an update on Brown’s case, to which a spokesperson responded that the investigation is still ongoing.
Seeking further information, WMBF News sent another email requesting additional details. In response, a spokesperson for the police department stated, “As is the case with any investigation, arrests are made when the individuals who are indicated by the evidence as potentially responsible are identified and located.” Horry County police are urging the community to assist in the murder investigation of Kaleb Brown. They encourage anyone with information to contact their tipline at 843-915-8477.
