A 15-year-old Augusta boy, Darryaun Tanksley, has been taken into custody and charged with murder in connection with the tragic shooting death of 14-year-old Anthony Harrison on Tuesday. Tanksley will be charged as an adult and faces severe legal consequences for his actions.

The arrest comes after a heart-wrenching social media campaign by Anthony’s mother, Tequila Beasley, who shared pictures and posts online identifying the suspect and pleading for justice. Beasley’s posts went viral, and she continued to share updates, including a recent post where she wrote, “At this point, I think it’s time I do the police job.”

The fatal shooting occurred on Tuesday night at Cedarwood Apartments, located at 527 West Richmond Hill Road in Augusta. According to a sheriff’s report, an apartment was struck by gunfire, and Anthony was killed in the incident. Another apartment was also hit by gunfire, but the three residents inside were not injured.

Tanksley’s mugshot has not been released due to his age. However, Beasley shared pictures of the suspect on Facebook, which she indicated was her son’s killer. She wrote, “The boy literally posting like it’s cool.”

Beasley’s emotional posts online helped raise awareness about the case and put pressure on the authorities to apprehend the suspect. After hearing about Tanksley’s arrest, she shared another post, expressing relief and gratitude.

Anthony’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, and his mother’s courageous efforts to seek justice have inspired many. The case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of gun violence and the importance of working together to prevent such tragedies.

Tanksley’s arrest and charges mark a significant step towards justice for Anthony and his family. As the legal process unfolds, the community will continue to support the Harrison family and advocate for a safer and more just society for all.
