Alek Isaiah Collins, 26, Arrested in Texas for Kidnapping Infant Eleia Maria Torres, Murdering Two Women, and Shooting 5-Year-Old Girl in New Mexico; Faces Multiple Charges, Including Two Counts of Murder, Kidnapping, and Child Abuse
Alek Isaiah Collins, 26, has been arrested in Texas for his alleged involvement in a horrific crime spree in New Mexico, which left two women dead, a 5-year-old girl injured, and an infant kidnapped. Collins faces multiple charges, including two counts of murder, kidnapping, and child abuse.
According to authorities, Collins kidnapped 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres and murdered her mother, Samantha Harley Cisneros, and another woman, Taryn Allen, at Ned Houk Park in Clovis, New Mexico, on Friday. He also shot Cisneros’ 5-year-old daughter, who is currently recovering in a Lubbock hospital.
Law enforcement received a tip that Collins was staying at a house in Abilene, Texas, over 260 miles away from Clovis. Police and the FBI arrested Collins and rescued Eleia, who was unharmed.
Collins is also facing charges of aggravated robbery and assault on a public servant in Abilene. He is from Manvel, Texas, about 30 minutes south of Houston, and authorities do not believe he is related to any of the victims.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to ensure that the case against Collins is “rock solid.” The FBI and local police are still seeking information and urging anyone with knowledge of the crimes to come forward.
The community is breathing a sigh of relief that Eleia has been rescued safely, but the tragedy of the two women’s murders and the shooting of the 5-year-old girl has left a lasting impact.
Collins’ arrest and charges serve as a reminder of the importance of law enforcement collaboration and the need for continued vigilance in keeping our communities safe.
As the case proceeds, the focus will be on ensuring justice for the victims and their families, and supporting those affected by this senseless violence.
