Morgan Carr (1998-2024): A Vibrant Life Cut Short, Remembering the Lapeer Native’s Love for the Outdoors, Family, and Friends
Morgan Carr, a beloved member of the Lapeer community, passed away on March 4, 2024, at the age of 26, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure.
Born on February 11, 1998, in Lapeer, Michigan, Morgan was raised in Metamora and attended Lapeer Schools. Despite being part of the inaugural class of the united Lapeer High Schools, he proudly identified as a Lapeer West Panther.
Morgan’s love for the outdoors was evident from a young age. He enjoyed dirt biking with his close friend Devin Pfeiffer and spent countless hours exploring the family farm. His passion for hunting and fishing was ignited by his grandfather, with whom he shared many fond memories.
After graduating from high school, Morgan began working with his father at Carr Custom Homes as a rough framer. He quickly proved himself to be a skilled and dedicated worker, eventually becoming a Foreman. His love for building and creating something from scratch was evident in his work.
Morgan’s sense of humor and infectious smile could light up a room. He had a special talent for making those around him feel loved and valued. His family and friends will deeply miss his bear hugs and his ability to make them laugh, even on their worst days.
Morgan is survived by his parents, Aaron and Rebecca Carr; sister, Mallory Carr; grandparents, Neil and Marguerite Carr, Frank and Michelle Paschal; aunts and uncles; cousins; and partner, Rachelle Compton. His close friend Brennen Zimmerman and great uncle Richard Flanders preceded him in death.
A private family viewing will be held, followed by a public Celebration of Life at the Metamora Golf & Country Club on Friday, May 10th, from 3 to 7 PM. The family invites friends and loved ones to share stories, memories, and condolences during this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lapeer County ISD, Education & Tech Center: Building Trades Program in honor of the family. All contributions will be kept anonymous, as Morgan’s family wishes to keep the focus on celebrating his life rather than mourning his passing.
Morgan’s love for life, his family, and his friends was evident in everything he did. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the many adventures he shared with those who loved him.
Rest in peace, Morgan Carr. Your memory will be cherished, and your love will never be forgotten.
