Patricia Saintizaire, 36, Accused of Heinous Crime: Tying 4-Year-Old Son Bryan Boyer’s Arms and Throwing Him into Pool, Faces First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Child Abuse Charges
A devastating incident has shaken the community of Davenport, Florida, as 36-year-old Patricia Saintizaire stands accused of murdering her 4-year-old son, Bryan Boyer, in a horrific act of violence. According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Saintizaire, who immigrated from Haiti, subjected Bryan to prolonged physical abuse and neglect, considering him an “unwanted” child.
On May 1, Bryan’s 16-year-old brother, who was also adopted from Haiti, noticed the young boy’s lethargic state and urged Saintizaire to seek medical attention. However, she dismissed his concerns, attributing Bryan’s condition to mere dramatic behavior. Tragically, Bryan was eventually taken to a Haines City hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The medical examiner’s report revealed shocking evidence of prolonged abuse, with “layers of bruises and injuries” from previous assaults. Sheriff Judd described the findings, stating, “He’s in the arms of God now. He is no longer subjected to beatings, punches, or being tied up and thrown into a pool.”
Detectives uncovered disturbing footage of the pool incident, as well as another video showing Bryan lying face-down while Saintizaire allegedly assaulted him on the back. Judd noted that Bryan endured the abuse “as if it were a regular event.”
Saintizaire has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and witness tampering. Her initial court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday. The investigation remains ongoing, with the boy’s father, who was at work at the time of the incident, and the 16-year-old sibling, who is currently under protective custody, cooperating with authorities.
Sheriff Judd expressed outrage and sadness at the heinous crime, stating, “This is a horrific case of child abuse and murder. We will do everything in our power to ensure justice is served for Bryan.”
The community is reeling from the news, with many calling for swift justice and greater awareness of child abuse. The incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable children and holding perpetrators accountable.
As the legal process unfolds, the focus will be on ensuring that Saintizaire faces the full weight of the law for her alleged crimes. Meanwhile, the community will come together to support the surviving family members and to promote awareness and prevention of child abuse.
In memory of Bryan Boyer, the community will be holding a vigil to honor his life and to condemn the senseless act of violence that took him from us too soon. The incident serves as a painful reminder of the need for continued efforts to protect our children and to ensure that such tragedies never occur again.
