A senseless act of violence claimed the life of Jerome G. Young, a 40-year-old man from Biloxi, Mississippi, on Thursday, May 2, outside a convenience store in Centreville. The Centreville Police Department received multiple calls around 8 p.m. reporting shots fired at the Chevron store located at 1290 Miss. Highway 24 East.
Responding officers found Young seated in a white BMW car, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses described a four-door Audi approaching the BMW from behind and unleashing a hail of bullets, also damaging the storefront glass. Fortunately, no one else was injured in the shooting.
