Officers also discovered a man, later identified as 23-year-old Prophet Thompson, inside the home with gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene. A third victim, a teenager, was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition along with the female victim.
A juvenile teen was taken into custody in connection with the shooting and is being held in juvenile detention for further investigation. The shooting has left the neighborhood shaken, with many residents expressing concern and fear for their safety. Neighbors reported hearing multiple shots fired, with some taking cover for several minutes.
Flemon Walker Sr., a homeowner in the area since 1991, expressed his disappointment and fear for his sons’ safety. “I knew it was trouble… the neighborhood just kinda turned in a different direction since we built the house here,” he said. Walker’s son reported finding shell casings all up and down their driveway, adding to the family’s distress.
