With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Slaughter/Grant family announces the passing of their beloved brother, Derrick Slaughter Sr., SFC (RET) Wilbert Slaughter Sr. Born on July 19, 1967, he transitioned from this life on May 2, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of service and love.

Derrick Slaughter Sr. was a dedicated servant to his country and community, and his life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to helping others. A public visitation will be held to pay respects to SFC (RET) Wilbert Slaughter Sr. on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Stevens McGhee Funeral Home Chapel in Quitman, Georgia.
