Sam Rubin Obituary, Death Veteran Entertainment Reporter Sam Rubin Dies at 64: Longtime KTLA Journalist Suffers Fatal Heart Attack at Home
Sam Rubin, a renowned entertainment reporter for KTLA news station in Los Angeles, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the age of 64, after suffering a heart attack at his residence.
Following the heart attack, Rubin was urgently transported to UCLA West Hills hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Sam Rubin joined KTLA in 1991 and became a prominent figure in Southern California households, known for his engaging entertainment news segments, celebrity interviews, and informative reports, earning him numerous Emmy awards.
Rubin was honored with a Golden Mike Award, a lifetime achievement award from the Southern California Broadcasters Association, and recognized as the top entertainment reporter by the Los Angeles Press Club.
Sam Rubin hosted his television program, “Hollywood Uncensored with Sam Rubin,” for over 100 episodes and was a founding member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
Rubin is survived by his wife, Leslie, and their four children.
KTLA technology reporter Rich DeMuro expressed shock and condolences, saying, “Morning news in Hollywood will never be the same without you.”
Rubin’s last interview was with Jane Seymour, and he had previously chatted with numerous A-listers, including Mariah Carey, Usher, Sting, and Zendaya.
