Hope Wood and Peggy Moore, a devoted couple and co-founders of Hope Action Change Consulting, tragically passed away in a fatal car accident on May 10, 2024. The incident occurred at Pala Road, just east of Horse Ranch Creek Road, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. A fifth person survived and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Hope Wood, a native of Moreno Valley, California, and a graduate of Valley View High School, was a dedicated social activist and educator. She studied Sociology at UCLA and obtained a Master’s in Education at UCLA Center X. Hope was a passionate Elementary School Teacher at LAUSD, Battleground States Coordinator at Obama for America, CA CD 33 (OBamawood) Team Coordinator (VOLUNTEER) at Obama for America, Northern CA Field Manager at Courage California, Organizing Training Manager & Interim Training Director at New Organizing Institute, Deputy Managing Director of Campaigns at Color Of Change, and Deputy Director at Color Of Change PAC.

Peggy Moore, Hope’s wife and business partner, was a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended Crooked Oak High School and had a distinguished career in politics and social activism. She was a former Deputy Field Director at Obama for America, CA Political Director at Organizing for America, Senior Advisor at the Office of the Mayor in Oakland, CA, and Training & Development Director at the California Democratic Party. Additionally, she was the Principal and owner of Boom LLC and co-owner and Principal at Hope Action Change Consulting.

The fatal car accident involved a head-on collision between a grey Chrysler 300 and a white Jeep Gladiator. The grey Chrysler 300 might have been traveling in the westbound lanes in the eastbound direction. The Jeep was half engulfed in flames, while the Chrysler was completely consumed by the flames. The SR 76 was closed for 4 hours due to the incident. Emergency services, including Calfire, NCFPD, CHP, and San Diego Sheriff’s, were on the scene.
