Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are prepared to engage in US politics ahead of the upcoming election. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have initiated a campaign to tackle the issue of misinformation surrounding the upcoming Presidential election in the US. Reports indicate that the couple is dedicated to educating US voters about the potential risks associated with deepfake technology.

The 2024 US election day is scheduled for November 5, featuring a highly anticipated rematch between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump. As per a report from Axios, the Archewell Foundation, led by Harry and Meghan, is actively working to equip voters with crucial resources to combat disinformation during the ongoing campaign season.

According to the website, a team of bipartisan individuals, which includes influential figures from Hollywood and the Archewell Foundation of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, is currently engaged in educating US voters about the increasing issue of deepfakes during the campaign season.

Analysts anticipate that individuals with ulterior motives, both from international sources and within the country, will exploit deepfake technology to manipulate media and sow voter confusion in the run-up to the election.

Google, Meta, and OpenAI have demonstrated their commitment to addressing misleading content, while Harry and Meghan’s organization is actively involved in generating innovative ideas for content creation. Since transitioning from their royal roles and relocating to the United States, the couple has wholeheartedly embraced the world of politics.

Amid the 2020 election, a video emerged with the aim of encouraging voter registration and tackling the problem of misinformation. In the video, Harry highlighted the significance of combating hate speech, misinformation, and online negativity.

Meghan emphasized the significance of the presidential race, describing it as a pivotal election that holds great importance for our generation. She highlighted the significance of Americans exercising their right to vote. Given Harry’s British citizenship, he is unable to participate in voting in the United States. He also noted that he has never exercised his right to vote in the UK, as it is customary for members of the royal family to refrain from involvement in UK politics.

However, there were speculations that Meghan might explore a career in politics given her consistent engagement with social issues during interviews. The Archewell Foundation also compensated Michelle Obama’s former press secretary with nearly £90,000 for their significant contributions in the field of social impact PR.

She expressed her backing for a campaign initiated by Michelle Obama during an online event hosted by the United States of Women and When We All Vote.
