Obituary, Death: Andrew Goodburn, Jamestown, RI Student Dies in Suicide
Andrew Goodburn, a student from Jamestown, Rhode Island, passed away suddenly on May 9, 2024. He died by suicide after apparently falling from a bridge.
Andrew left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he came in contact with. His infectious grin was a clear indication of his boundless enthusiasm for life and his unbridled delight. He loved to eat, sail, talk, ski, participate in JROTC, European cars, Star Wars, Beavertail, board games, and paint model miniatures. He also enjoyed going on camping trips in the Adirondacks. On top of being a devoted friend and a cherished part of the family, he was also a fervent Catholic.
Andrew is survived by his brothers Ryan and Matthew, his parents Jennelle and David, his grandparents (Jarret), his aunts, uncles, and cousins (Grondin, Hughes, Dube, Floody-Taylor, Jarret, Bunker, Whittenhall, Richardson), a community that is devastated by his passing, and a large number of individuals that he considered to be his friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, located at 60 Narragansett Avenue in Jamestown, on Wednesday, May 15 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Mark Parish Outreach.
Andrew will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His infectious grin and enthusiasm for life will be remembered by everyone he came in contact with. His love for his family, friends, and community will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
