Obituary, Death: Karen Ann (Frisch) Pelletier, a Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Cousin, and Friend Dies at 64 After Courageous Battle with Cancer

Karen Ann (Frisch) Pelletier, a 64-year-old resident of Peabody, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a heroic struggle with cancer. She was born in Springfield to the late Alfred and Rosemary (Brawley) Frisch and spent her childhood in Salem, where she graduated from Salem High School in 1978.

Karen continued her education and received an associate’s degree from North Shore Community College. She had been a resident of Peabody for the past two years, having previously lived in Georgetown for almost thirty years. Karen dedicated most of her life to raising her family, and her greatest delight was being a wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend.

She loved to cook and travel, particularly cruising, which she enjoyed with family and friends on multiple occasions. Karen’s family was her pride and joy, and she will be deeply missed by everyone she knew. In addition to her husband, Philip Pelletier, with whom she shared over 38 years of marriage, she is survived by her daughter, Alison Pelletier, and her partner, Samuel Ashbrook, of Georgetown; a son, Jason Pelletier, and his wife, Sarah, of Manchester, New Hampshire; a granddaughter, Julia Pelletier, of New Hampshire; three cousins, Rosemary Boudreau, Shelley Doyle, and Mary Mahoney; and several nieces and nephews, including her beloved niece, Alicia Lindeman, of Cambridge.

Karen was also the sister of the late Sheila Frisch, E. Michael Frisch, and midshipman Alfred “JR” Frisch. Her family was her rock, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Karen’s passing leaves a profound impact on the community, and her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.

Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a service in the funeral home at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private.

Karen’s love for her family was evident in everything she did. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Karen’s passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, and her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her immediate family, Karen is survived by several nieces and nephews, including her beloved niece, Alicia Lindeman, of Cambridge. She was also the sister of the late Sheila Frisch, E. Michael Frisch, and midshipman Alfred “JR” Frisch.
