Obituary,Death: Johnny Edward Webb Jr., a devoted husband, father, and pillar of the Harold, KY community, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the age of 52, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication.
Born on December 10, 1971, to Dinah Sparks Vanhoose and Johnny (Ella) Webb in Huntington, West Virginia, Johnny spent thirty years serving as the director of the cardiac catheter lab at Pikeville Medical Center, where he was renowned for his kindness, expertise, and commitment to his patients and colleagues.
A loving husband to Ginger Rogers Webb, Johnny is survived by his parents, children, Jimmy Austin (Shae) Adkins, Savannah Bowens (Nathan), and McKinley Webb (Hope & Kealeigh), all of Harold, Kentucky; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; a granddaughter, Natalie Bowens; a son-in-law, Zach Bowens; sisters, Angela (Chris) Judd of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, and Stephanie (Josh) King of Morehead, Kentucky.
Johnny’s impact on his community was immense, as he was a member of the country boys bass club, a twenty-year official in high school basketball, a YMCA basketball and soccer coach, and a member of casting for kids. His large grin and wonderful personality had brought so much joy to those who knew and loved him over the years.
Pikeville Medical Centre, where Johnny worked tirelessly for thirty years, aims to offer comprehensive care in a Christian setting to enhance the health and wellbeing of the surrounding community. The centre has ten Centres of Excellence and employs around 3,100 people, 600 of whom are licensed healthcare professionals.
At the time of this publication, the cause of death has not been revealed. The family will announce the obituary and cause of death.
