Quentin Powell Obituary and Death: A bright and adventurous 15-year-old student at Gibson Southern High School, passed away on May 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of joy, courage, and determination.

Known affectionately as “Q” to his family and friends, Quentin’s untimely death has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with many remembering him for his infectious enthusiasm and love for life.

Born on December 16, 2008, in Woodbridge, Virginia, Quentin was the beloved only child of Laura and Tiffany Gordon. He was a freshman at Gibson Southern High School, class of 2027, and had a strong desire to become a Marine since kindergarten. Quentin’s love for adventure was evident in his many exploits, from go-karting and parasailing to indoor skydiving and climbing to the edge of the Garden of the Gods.

Quentin’s family and friends fondly remember his love for water, often swimming in deep waters with ease. His favorite summer breaks were spent at the beaches in Florida and Virginia, where he would soak up the sun and enjoy the thrill of the ocean. Quentin was also an avid fan of Harry Potter, relishing in the magic of Universal Studios and Disney World, where eating a churro by the castle was a highlight of his trips.

When not indulging in video games, watching videos, or binge-watching The Walking Dead, Quentin could be found reading a book or singing one of his many favorite songs. His love for speed and adrenaline was evident in his enjoyment of fast-paced activities, always seeking the next thrill.

Quentin is preceded in death by his Grandpa Mark Gordon, Great-Grandparents Alva and Elizabeth Rostron, and Bob and Doris Powell. He is survived by his parents, Laura and Tiffany Gordon; Grandpa Randy Powell; Grandma Janet (Kenny) Buehner; Grandma Deborah Gordon; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 12:30 PM to service time at Stodghill Funeral Home, followed by services at 4:30 PM with Pastor Andy Payton officiating. As the community comes together to mourn the loss of this vibrant young life, we remember Quentin’s zest for life, his courage, and his infectious enthusiasm, which will continue to inspire and motivate others to live life to the fullest.

Quentin’s family and friends will deeply miss his bright smile, his love for adventure, and his unwavering optimism. As we bid farewell to this remarkable young individual, we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate others to embrace life’s joys and challenges with courage and determination.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to a charity of one’s choice, a testament to Quentin’s generosity and kindness. As we remember Quentin’s life, we are reminded of the importance of cherishing every moment, embracing life’s adventures, and living each day with purpose and passion.
