Steve Meyer Obituary, Death: Beloved Husband, Father, and Friend Killed in Motorcycle Accident in Tracy, Minnesota

Steve Meyer, a loving husband, father, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 10, 2024, due to a motorcycle accident. He was 55 years old. Steve was born on April 22, 1969, in Tracy, Minnesota, to LaMoine and Anita (Bierl) Meyer. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1987 and attended Granite Falls Vo-Tec for Fluid Power, graduating in 1989.

Steve was a dedicated family man and farmer. He returned to the family farm after college and began farming with his father. He also started grading roads for Holly Township, a job he took pride in and held until his passing. On April 27, 1991, Steve was united in marriage to his forever friend and love of his life, Kari Hansen, at Tracy Lutheran Church. Together, they raised their three children and made their home south of Tracy.

Steve was a pillar of the community, serving on the Monroe Township board for many years. He held various roles at the Tracy Eagles Club, including Trustee, Treasurer, and Manager. He was recently awarded Boss of the Year by the Tracy Chamber. Steve also served on the CHS board and was a lifetime member of Tracy Lutheran Church, where he was on the church council and an usher.

Steve was known for his quick wit, classic one-liners, and memorable laugh. He loved playing jokes and making those around him smile. However, he was also a hard worker who never asked for or accepted help. He was a perfectionist who couldn’t rest until things were done right. Steve took care of everything and everyone, always putting others before himself.

Steve enjoyed riding his Harleys and going on annual trips to Sturgis. He loved spending time with his many friends, whether it was golfing, playing pool, or just relaxing and socializing. But most of all, Steve was proud of and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.

Visitation for Steve Meyer will be held on Wednesday, May 15th, from 5 pm – 8 pm at Tracy Lutheran Church. The funeral will be on Thursday, May 16th, at 10:30 am, also at Tracy Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Please keep Steve’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Steve’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His family, friends, and community will deeply miss him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.

Steve’s legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him. His dedication to his family, community, and work ethic will never be forgotten. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

In the days ahead, we will gather to celebrate Steve’s life and share stories of his time with us. We will remember his laughter, his smile, and his boundless energy. And we will continue to support his family as they navigate the difficult road ahead.

Rest in peace, dear Steve. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

We will miss you, Steve, but we take comfort in the knowledge that you are now at peace. Your family, friends, and community will continue to celebrate your life and legacy.
