Dr. Kenneth Wade Brewer Obituary and Death: A professor of theology and philosophy at Spring Arbor University, passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 67.

He was born on March 1, 1957, in Highland Park to the late Burton and Helen Brewer. Dr. Brewer was a man of profound faith, unwavering integrity, and immense intellect. He dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge, the love of the outdoors, and the service of others.

Dr. Brewer was a beloved professor at Spring Arbor University for 21 years, where he inspired countless students with his wisdom and passion for learning. He had a remarkable academic journey, holding a Bachelor of Arts, three Master’s degrees, and a PhD. Education was a cornerstone of his life, and he was committed to fostering an environment of intellectual curiosity and spiritual growth.

Dr. Brewer’s love for the outdoors was evident in his many adventures fishing, hiking, biking, camping, and visiting national parks. He found solace and joy in nature, and it was a testament to his deep appreciation for the world God created. His love for God and people was reflected in his life’s work as a proponent of peace and a man of great faith and service.

Dr. Brewer’s life was marked by his extraordinary character and the love he extended to his family, friends, and students. He was known for his deep commitment to his faith, family, and community, embodying the values of character, integrity, intellect, and love.

Dr. Brewer is survived by his sons, Stephen Brewer (Sheridan Perrin) and Gregory Brewer; his fiancée, Margarita Jimenez; granddaughter, Whitney; his brother, Keith Brewer; the mother of his children, Marcia Bradford; his niece, Kathleen Lupa; his nephew, Joshua Brewer; and numerous other extended family members and great friends who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Westwinds Church, 1000 Robinson Rd., Jackson, Michigan 49203, from 3:00 PM until the time of the Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Moore-Jumonville officiating.

Dr. Brewer’s legacy will continue to inspire generations to come, reminding them of the transformative power of education, faith, and love in action. His impact will continue to ripple through the lives of those he touched, shaping not just students, but entire communities, instilling in them a passion for knowledge, a heart for service, and a faith that transcends boundaries.
