He took great pride in having had a good influence on thousands of young people’s lives as an educator. For many, including myself, he served as a friend and mentor.

He took great pride in having had a good influence on thousands of young people’s lives as an educator. For many, including myself, he served as a friend and mentor. During my visit to CSHS in 1993 for an interview to become a teacher, Ken Simcox provided me with a tour of the facilities. During that journey, I had the opportunity to become acquainted with Mr. Snyder. As soon as we began working together, we quickly became friends with one another.
We travelled around the East Coast with the History Club that we were a part of. We went to a lot of Suns games, Broadway performances, and Orioles vs. Yankees ball games since Dick had a season ticket (behind home plate), which allowed us to attend all of these events. During the games between the Orioles and the Yankees, we wore jerseys from the other team; mine never had pinstripes.
Our team, which included Julie Becker and Michele Althouse, was there to cheer on the athletes representing the United States of America in the Summer Olympics held in Atlanta in 1996. The passing of Mr. Snyder has caused everyone who is still living to express their sadness; he would not want anyone to be in a state of mourning.
Since it became public knowledge that he had passed away, a great number of people have not been shy in expressing their deepest sympathies to the family of Richard Snyder. They have also paid respect to him in remarks that were just recently made public. He will be remembered fondly by everyone who had the opportunity to know him during the course of his life.
