Bowling Green High School posted the tragic news on their official Facebook page, expressing profound grief and sadness. Dr. Frederickson, the Superintendent, wrote, “It is with profound grief and sadness that I write to share some difficult news with our school community. Last night, a member of our senior class passed away, and many are struggling through this unfortunate loss. I know our community is hurting and overwhelmed by this news.”
The school community is coming together to support those who are hurting. The main focus is on providing support to the families, students, staff, and all those impacted by this loss. Teachers, counselors, and administrators will be working diligently to meet the needs of individual students and staff members.
Graduation ceremonies, previously scheduled for Friday, May 17, were postponed to Saturday, May 18, at 7 p.m. in the BGHS Gym. Additional graduation practice scheduled for the morning was canceled. The school is providing additional counselors from neighboring districts to help students and staff process their grief.
Every person processes grief differently and has different needs in the wake of a tragedy. For many students and staff members, school is a safe place where they find community. Grief counselors advise schools to keep a normal routine as much as possible, as that routine provides solace for large numbers of people.
Bryson’s family will release his obituary and arrangements. The school community is thankful for their BG Family and is coming together to support those who are hurting.
Bryson was a talented defensive player and a dedicated member of the school community. His passing is a significant loss, and he will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and the entire school community.
The school community is encouraged to come together and support each other during this difficult time. If you or someone you know is struggling with grief, please reach out to a trusted adult or a grief counselor for support.
In memory of Bryson Brandenburger, the school community will come together to celebrate his life and legacy. Details of the memorial service will be announced soon.
Rest in peace, Bryson Brandenburger. Your memory will live on in the hearts of your friends, family, and the entire school community.
