Kelsey Lauren Price, a vibrant and loving 14-year-old, tragically passed away in an automobile accident on Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Born on July 30, 1991, in Overland Park, Kansas, Kelsey was the cherished daughter of Todd and Patricia Price, who survive her.
Kelsey’s life was marked by her kind and gentle nature, and she was a nurturing sister who left a lasting legacy of love for her siblings to carry on. She had just completed her freshman year at Santa Fe Trail Junior High and was eagerly anticipating her first year at Olathe Northwest High School in the fall.
In addition to her parents, Kelsey is survived by her two sisters, Katey and Karly, both of the home. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Jim and Jan Price of Topeka, Kansas, and her maternal grandparents, Ed and Judi Scanlon of Kansas City, Kansas.
Her paternal great-grandparents, Burt and Lupacha Price of Baxter Springs, Kansas, many Scanlon aunts and uncles, as well as Shannon and Scott Uhl of Topeka, Kansas, and numerous cousins, also mourn her loss. Kelsey’s extended family was incredibly important to her, and she cherished the time she spent with them.
Kelsey’s spirit, characterized by her sweetness and inner and outer beauty, will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family, friends, and community will always cherish the moments they shared with her, and her gentle spirit will live on in their hearts.
To honor her memory, the family suggests contributions to a memorial fund in her name at Santa Fe Trail Junior High. This fund will support initiatives that reflect Kelsey’s values and passions, ensuring her legacy lives on.
