Avery Guidry and Travon Johnson Captured, Jamarcus Cyprian and Omarion Hookfin Still at Large After Daring Parish Jail Breakout in South Louisiana

Avery Guidry, 19, and Travon Johnson, 21, two of the four prisoners who escaped from a parish jail in South Louisiana on Monday, have been captured by authorities, while Jamarcus Cyprian, 20, and Omarion Hookfin, 19, remain at large.

The four prisoners escaped the institution by exploiting a vulnerable portion of the perimeter fence, which allowed a small statured body to slide through, according to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards.

Avery Guidry and Travon Johnson, both of Natalbany, were discovered hiding in a garbage can outside an Amite business earlier on Monday, and were taken into custody by officials.

Jamarcus Cyprian, 20, of Amite, and Omarion Hookfin, 19, of Hammond, are still evading authorities and are considered to be at large.

The breakout is currently under investigation, and authorities are working to determine how the prisoners managed to escape and how to prevent such incidents in the future.

The community is urged to remain vigilant and to report any sightings of the two remaining escapees to the authorities immediately.

Avery Guidry and Travon Johnson are facing additional charges related to their escape, and will be held without bond until their court appearance.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is working closely with other law enforcement agencies to ensure that Jamarcus Cyprian and Omarion Hookfin are apprehended and brought to justice as soon as possible.

The escape has raised concerns about the security of the parish jail and the need for increased measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

The community is relieved that two of the escapees have been captured, but remains on high alert until the remaining two are brought into custody.
