Torin Robert Myer, a vibrant and dedicated individual, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 25, at the age of 35, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. He was a devoted husband to Jessica Myer (Strickland) and a loving father to Sedona Alice and Piper Jane Myer. Torin’s unexpected departure has left a void in the lives of his family, friends, and the entire community.
Born in Morristown, New Jersey, Torin grew up with a strong sense of determination and a passion for life. He completed his education at Forest City Regional High School and attended East Stroudsburg University. Torin’s sense of duty and patriotism led him to enlist in the US Marines, where he served with honor and distinction. After his military service, he settled in Union Dale, where he established his construction company, East Mountain Construction.
Torin’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He cherished every moment with his daughters, Sedona and Piper, and his wife, Jessica. He was a loving and supportive partner, father, and friend, always willing to lend a helping hand. Torin’s love for life was contagious, and his enthusiasm inspired those around him.
Apart from his family, Torin’s other passion was his construction company, East Mountain Construction. He poured his heart and soul into building dream homes for his clients, always striving for perfection. His dedication and expertise earned him a reputation as one of the finest contractors in the area.
Torin’s love for the outdoors was evident in his enjoyment of hunting, fishing, golfing, and volleyball. He was a skilled pool player and relished the camaraderie of his Forest City crew of brothers and sisters. Torin’s zest for life was infectious, and his presence lit up any room he entered.
Torin’s selflessness and kindness were hallmarks of his character. He always put others before himself, offering a helping hand to those in need, whether friends, family, or strangers. His generosity and compassion inspired countless individuals, and his legacy will continue to motivate others to follow in his footsteps.
Torin is survived by his wife, Jessica; daughters Sedona and Piper; parents Tim and Cathy Myer; twin brother Taylor Myer (Kelly); brothers Jeffrey Youells (Ashley) and Justin Youells (Temple); grandparents Robert Myer, Ida Strickland, and Carol Raymond; mother Tracy Collins; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
A visitation will be held at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home in Forest City on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. A celebration of life will take place at Chet’s Place in Union Dale on Friday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support Sedona and Piper’s future and education, sent to Jessica Myer at 1617 East Mountain Road, Union Dale, PA 18470.
