Megan Elizabeth Roberts, a cherished member of the Oneida community, passed away on June 3rd, 2024, at the age of 36, after a courageous fight against cancer. Surrounded by her loving husband, parents, and in-laws, Megan’s passing has left an immense void in the lives of all who knew her. Her remarkable story was woven with love, faith, and dedication, inspiring countless individuals throughout her life.
Born on April 4, 1988, in Hamilton, New York, to Bob and Debbie Grems, Megan grew up with a strong sense of faith and community. She graduated from Oneida High School in 2006 and furthered her education at Mohawk Valley Community College, where she met her future husband. Megan’s passion for education led her to earn a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a special education minor from Niagara University and Utica College.
Megan’s dedication to her family and community was unwavering. She spent many years working at the Oneida Community Bank before devoting herself full-time to her seven children. Her love for her family was only matched by her devotion to her faith, as a devout member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Lady of Good Counsel Church in Verona. She found solace in the Traditional Latin Mass and was deeply grateful to Reverend Edmund Castronovo for his spiritual guidance.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Megan’s family, friends, and community rallied around her, offering unwavering support and love. Her final days were a testament to her unshakeable faith, as she inspired those around her to trust in the Lord’s plan. Megan’s legacy will continue to inspire generations, reminding us to cherish every moment and love unconditionally.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Liam M. Kinne Foundation, Inc., Jessica Hero’s Foundation, Guardians of St. Patrick’s School, or Holy Cross Academy. Calling hours will be held at Campbell-Dean Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Latin Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church in Oneida on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., presided over by Reverend Edmund Castronovo.
