Raymond Martin Obituary and Death: Beloved Resident of Lunenburg Courthouse, Virginia, Passes Away at 91

Raymond Morris Martin, a cherished member of the Lunenburg Courthouse community, passed away on June 4, 2024, at the remarkable age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family and friends.

Born to Edith and Roy Martin, Raymond grew up with his brothers Eddie and Julian Bert Martin, and later served in the US Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked in the logging and forestry industries until his retirement.

Raymond’s greatest joy was his family, and he is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ann Dalton Martin, his daughter Theresa Steele (Kevin), daughter-in-law Sherry Martin Harris (Eddie), and four grandsons, Josh and Luke Martin, Ethan and Bailey Steele.

The family is forever grateful to Raymond’s caregivers, who selflessly dedicated countless hours to ensure he could spend his final days in the comfort of his own home.

Raymond was a friend to everyone, always ready with a joke or a helping hand. He cherished his time spent at Timmy’s Grocery with his best friend Timmy Clark, engaging in lively conversations and making memories that will be deeply missed.

Raymond’s funeral service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria, VA, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM, under the care of Staples Funeral Home. Donations in his honor may be made to the Victoria Church of the Nazarene.

Raymond’s love for his family and community was unwavering, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the community for their support and condolences during this difficult time.

Raymond’s dedication to his country and his community will never be forgotten, and his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him.

Raymond’s love for reading and mingling with others was evident in his daily visits to Timmy’s Grocery, where he will be deeply missed by the community.
