Wendy Echols Mason, a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 3, 2024, at the age of 54, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to her community.
Born on October 13, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia, Wendy was raised in Tucker, Georgia, and went on to attend the University of West Georgia, where she earned her undergraduate degree and later a master’s degree in education counseling. Her passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career as a counselor and educator.
Wendy’s love for learning and her desire to make a positive impact on her community led her to Carrollton High School in 2018, where she served as a friend, mentor, and counselor to countless students. She also taught GED classes at West Georgia Technical College, helping students prepare for their exams and achieve their goals.
As a family resource coordinator at Carrollton City Schools from 1994 to 1996, Wendy provided invaluable support to students and their families, making a lasting impact on their lives. Her dedication to her work and her community was unwavering, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Wendy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she cherished every moment she had with her husband, Mike, and their children, Will, Abbey, and Mallory. She also loved spending time at the beach, reading, bird watching, and tending to her beloved plants.
A memorial service will be held at King’s Chapel Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 5:00 PM, to celebrate Wendy’s life and legacy. The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Wendy’s passing leaves a gaping hole in the lives of those who knew her, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched. Her love, compassion, and dedication to her community will never be forgotten.
