Kevin Greene, a highly respected Union Carpenter and cherished member of the Beaver Run and East Penn Rod & Gun clubs, passed away on June 27, 2024, at the age of 49, leaving behind a loving family, dear friends, and a community that will deeply miss him.
Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Kevin was the beloved son of Robert W. Greene Sr. and Patricia A. (Feist) Greene of Lehighton. He grew up in a loving family that instilled in him strong values and a robust work ethic, which would become the foundation of his successful career and personal life.
Kevin’s education at Lehighton Area High School laid the groundwork for his future accomplishments. He graduated in 1993, forging lifelong friendships and a passion for learning that would stay with him throughout his life.
As a skilled Union Carpenter, Kevin dedicated his career to working for various bridge construction companies. His meticulous craftsmanship and commitment to his trade earned him respect and admiration from his peers and industry leaders alike.
Kevin’s roots in the community ran deep, and he was an active and devoted member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Big Creek. His faith played a significant role in his life, and he was deeply committed to his faith community, building strong relationships and participating in various church activities.
In addition to his love for his faith community, Kevin was a cherished member of the Orioles Club in Lehighton and the Beaver Run and East Penn Rod & Gun clubs. These memberships reflected his love for camaraderie and community engagement, and he was always eager to participate in club activities and events.
An avid outdoorsman, Kevin found great joy in hunting and fishing. The tranquility of nature and the thrill of the hunt were his sanctuaries, and he cherished every moment spent in the great outdoors. His Harley was more than just a mode of transportation; it symbolized his adventurous spirit and love for the open road.
Kevin was also a talented woodworker, able to transform wood into beautiful, functional pieces that showcased his patience, precision, and creative flair. His woodworking projects, much like his contributions to bridge construction, were marked by quality and attention to detail.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Robert W. Greene Sr. and Patricia A. (Feist) Greene of Lehighton; his brother, Robert Greene Jr., and his wife, Courtney, of Austin, Texas; his sister, Tiffany D., wife of Ron Minto of Leander, Texas; his nephews, Edwin and Thomas Greene; and his nieces, Caitlyn and Kelly Minto.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at the Mayes-Melber Funeral Home in Weissport. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Kevin’s life, sharing stories and memories of his love, friendship, and community involvement.
