In the wake of his passing, a GoFundMe page has been established to support the family with medical expenses and memorial costs, reflecting the community’s collective effort to honor and assist one of their own during this difficult time.

Patrick Winn Nielson, affectionately known as Pat, was born on October 24, 1968, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Max and Christine Nielson. Growing up in Bountiful, Utah, Pat was part of a large, loving family, which included five brothers and one sister. This nurturing environment instilled in him the values of tenacity, faith, and the importance of family. These principles were further solidified during his time serving an LDS mission in Scotland, an experience that profoundly shaped his character and his approach to life’s challenges.

After completing his mission, Pat pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Utah. This academic achievement paved the way for a long and successful career at Zions National Bank. While Pat was known for his exceptional financial management skills, his colleagues and clients remember him most for his enduring friendship and supportive nature. One of the most significant moments in Pat’s life was meeting Jennifer Lambert on a blind date. This encounter marked the beginning of his greatest journey. Shortly after they began dating, Pat’s family went on a cruise. Despite the distance, Pat’s affection for Jen was so strong that at every port, he would hurriedly disembark to find a pay phone and call her. This genuine enamorment culminated in their marriage on June 21, 2005, in the Salt Lake Temple. Their union was a testament to true love and mutual respect, bringing immense joy and fulfillment to Pat’s life.

Pat had waited a long time for his real love, and his marriage to Jen provided him with the family he had always dreamed of. Pat’s greatest happiness came from being a father to Joshua, Morgan, and Jaxon.
