Born on August 2, 1980, in Belleville, Illinois, Gina was the beloved daughter of Joyce and Daniel Yearian and Gary and Sharon Groom. Her early years were spent in Belleville, where she attended Belleville West High School, graduating in 1998. Gina’s academic journey continued at Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) in Belleville, where she earned an associate’s degree in science. Her education laid the foundation for a successful career in the healthcare field, where she was employed at Musick Dermatology in Shiloh. Gina also had previous work experiences at V & H Recreation in Breese and Kona Ice in New Baden, where she made lasting impressions with her dedication and vibrant personality.
Gina’s life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family and her active involvement in her daughters’ activities. As a devoted mother, she passionately supported her daughters, Delayni and Jayci, in their dance and soccer pursuits, attending every practice, game, and recital. Her love for her children was evident in everything she did, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Gina’s nurturing spirit extended to her pets, which included several dogs and cats that she adored and cared for deeply.
An avid enthusiast of stock car racing, Gina enjoyed attending events at the Federated Auto Parts Raceway. She also participated in running 5k races and frequented the gym, embracing an active lifestyle. Butterflies held a special place in Gina’s heart, offering her a source of comfort and peace. Her greatest joy, however, came from the time she spent with her family, especially her husband, Jason, and their daughters. The Davinroy family shared a close-knit bond filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Gina was a remarkable woman with a resilient spirit. She was a 10-year post-op double organ transplant recipient, having received both a kidney and pancreas. Her strength and determination in the face of health challenges were inspiring to all who knew her. Gina is survived by her devoted husband, Jason Davinroy, of Breese, whom she married on March 1, 2008, in Lenzburg. Together, they shared the joy of raising their two beloved daughters, Delayni and Jayci Davinroy. Gina is also remembered by her brother, Gary “Buddy” Groom (fiancée, Shannon Comely) of Breese; her step-siblings, Shannon (Blake) Starr of Belleville and their son Milo, Melissa (John) Brannan of Bentonville, AR and their children Ava and Emry, and Kevin (Bee) Miller of San Diego, CA; her mother-in-law, Janice Becherer of O’Fallon; sister-in-law, Jessica (Paul) Dashner of Belleville and their children, Carly and Caleigh; her favorite cousin and best friend, Nick Groom; and her cherished friends, Steve, Stacey, Taylor, Amanda, Laura, Nikki, Brandi, and Raquel. Gina’s family and friends were a vital part of her life, and their memories of her love and kindness will forever remain in their hearts.
Preceding Gina in death were her grandparents, Jack and Mary (nee Taylor) Coughlin, and Marvin and Gladys (nee Stemler) Groom. Their legacy of love and family values lived on through Gina, who embodied these principles in her own life and passed them on to her children.

A Funeral Service to honor Gina’s life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese, with Chaplain Timothy Bozarth officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 9:00-11:15 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese. These gatherings will offer a space for the community to come together in grief and remembrance, celebrating the life of a woman who brought so much joy and light into the lives of others.
