Obituary (2024) of Waldean Lembke, Death – On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, Iowa State University and the accounting education community at large mourned the loss of Waldean “Val” Lembke, Distinguished Professor of Accounting in the Tippi College of Business.

At the age of 88, Val passed away peacefully in his home, leaving behind dedication, passion and profound impact. Val Lembke devoted more than five decades of his life to shaping the minds of future accountants, instilling in them not only the principles of accounting, but also the values ​​of integrity, diligence and excellence.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, at Gay & Ciha Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City.
