Over a decade ago, Kory pulled me off a treadmill, put a barbbell in my hands for the first time, and showed me how strong I was. He would say, “Kaylan quit school because of recess, she don’t play!” I still say that to myself when the workouts get hard. He brought a lot of people together and he will be missed. Rest peacefully friend

You gotta take the bitter with the glitter.
I learned that line from Kory, and damn if it isn’t applicable now.
He would say it to me on them cardio heavy days with nary a barbell on the board. But I carry it with me every day.
It is usually the first thing I say to myself, and anyone in my life when the hard times show up. It always musters the strength to move forward.
