Charlotte Stewart Obituary, Cause Of Death – Charlotte Anne (Moore) Stewart, age 94, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, in Wilmington, MA. Born on May 14, 1929, in Cambridge, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry G. and Annie (MacLeod) Moore, both originally from Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Charlotte spent her childhood in Wilmington, where she formed lifelong friendships and received her education, graduating from Wilmington High School in the Class of 1947. Charlotte was united in marriage to her loving husband, the late Harry (Hank) Stewart, with whom she raised four sons.
She played an active role in their lives, attending numerous sporting events and encouraging them to excel. Charlotte found great joy in her role as a grandmother, known affectionately as Grammie, Grammie Charlotte, Mimi, and Great-Grammie, and took pride in her family’s achievements.
An advocate for education, Charlotte pursued learning throughout her life. After raising her children, she returned to school, earning an associate degree from Northern Essex Community College in 1981, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Lowell in 1983, and a Master of Social Work from Simmons College in 1985.
Charlotte’s passion for helping others led her to a career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Family Service of Greater Boston. She also dedicated herself to improving the lives of senior citizens, serving as an advocate for change with the Medford Council on Aging.
Known for her kindness and compassion, Charlotte made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless families in crisis, touching many hearts throughout her career. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Charlotte was a staunch supporter of women’s rights and served as a role model for numerous women.
Her dedication to service and her commitment to making a positive impact in the world will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Charlotte Anne (Moore) Stewart leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
