In the Florence neighborhood of Los Angeles, Ronald Huntley, 46, lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday night while he was crossing Avalon Boulevard and 81st Street.
The collision occurred on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at approximately 11:05 p.m. The victim has been recognized by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The Los Angeles Police Department is in charge of the crash investigation, and they are looking for the culprit in what may be a white vehicle.
The driver allegedly entered the northbound lanes of Avalon Boulevard while the car was speeding southward in order to pass other drivers who had stopped for people crossing the street.
The victim was utilizing an unmarked crosswalk while traveling eastward. After striking the man, the vehicle didn’t stop to assist him and drove away down Avalon Boulevard.
Ronald Huntley was pronounced deceased at the crash scene by paramedics dispatched by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Lastly, there is a $50,000 standing reward offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that results in the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the offender.
