Dayna was honored with the Key to the City during the 2021 Holiday Spectacular as a very modest mark of our City’s thanks for everything she has done throughout the course of her life. Dayna’s presence brought light into our lives, and her absence has left a gap that will be felt for many years to come.
Dayna was a shining example of what our community could be. Her paintings, which were bright and cheery, were displayed in the front windows of our shop for many years, and they helped to create an environment that was kind and inviting for anyone who walked by.
The tenacity and resolve that Dayna possessed never wavered, not even when she was confronted with the difficulty of losing ninety percent of her vision. Despite the challenges she encountered, she proceeded to paint our windows while wearing three pairs of glasses. Her artistic talent was evident despite the barriers she encountered.
Dayna’s influence was felt far beyond the confines of our retail establishment. She was a rock of support and a wellspring of motivation for everyone who came into contact with her. She left behind an eternal legacy of love and light by being kind, compassionate, and unyielding in her spirit. Her kindness and compassion affected the lives of numerous persons.
While we are saddened by Dayna’s passing, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is now in the skies, where she is definitely shining as brightly as she ever did. We are able to find solace in the wonderful memories we have of her and the indelible mark she has left on our lives, despite the fact that we may experience the hole that her departure has left behind.
