Tom McCracken Obituary, Death – During this time of mourning, we wanted the McCracken family to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them. Tom was their patriarch. After working for the Greene County Sheriff’s Office for a considerable amount of time, Tom had become an investigator.
Before relocating to Greene County, Tom began his career as a law enforcement officer in the state of Missouri. The month of January 1997 marked the beginning of my career as a law enforcement officer here at the Sheriff’s Office.
At the time, Tom was serving as the Captain of the Criminal Investigation Division. Both the periods that we worked together and the memories that I have of Tom are very special to me. Get some rest, Tom. On Thursday, March 7, 2024, Thomas “Tom” Harold McCracken, who was 74 years old and lived in Paragould, passed away in a calm and serene manner surrounded by his family. His parents, Marion and Eva McCracken, welcomed him into the world on January 8, 1950, in Bell City, Missouri.
Judy was his wife for many years, and she was the one who took care of him right up until the moment he passed away. Tom, or T-Mac, as he occasionally referred to himself in jest, was a man who was not an easy person to forget.
Having established a name for himself as the individual who never allowed you to speculate about his thoughts, his most treasured recollections included instances in which he played the role of the protagonist in the narrative of another person. It was true that he was a man who had a lot of stories to tell.
For many years, Tom served as a law enforcement officer in the community. Prior to the establishment’s closing, he was a frequent customer at Terry’s Café, where he would frequently spend his mornings eating breakfast with his son or granddaughters. It is with great affection that people remember him for his passion for music, his carefree dancing, and his unpredictable nature.
Tom was a prankster person. He never stopped looking for the next deal that he could find. It brought him great joy to instruct his grandchildren in the art of tinkering in the shop and driving the golf cart. It was possible to witness Tom driving his golf cart to the stream or taking his great-grandsons on a candy run that emphasised “forgiveness over permission.”
